Cambridge Energy Resources Implements Energy Management Solution (EMS) for Vodafone
Jaisalmer, Rajasthan July 08, 2011: Cambridge Energy Resources (CER), a Cambridge Energy Group Company, commissioned its proprietary Energy Management Solution (EMS) to manage an off grid tower site with hybrid power sources at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan for its key customer Vodafone. CER’s innovative green telecom solution for Off-Grid Towers eliminates or minimizes the use of Diesel and also provides reliable power with 99% uptime for business continuity. After transforming the off-grid site to green tower, the diesel consumption is expected to reduce from 16,000 liters per annum to barely 350 liters. The site uses solar power and is likely to be augmented by a micro-wind turbine to completely eliminate the use of Diesel. Saving of over 16,000 liters of diesel is equivalent to reducing 43 Tonnes of CO2 every year.
According to Achyuta N Bakshi, Managing Director of CER, "Keeping in line with its commitment to establish long term association with its customers, CER offers its Energy Management Solution as OpEx model. CER invests the capital required for setting up the system, deploys the solution at the tower site, all for a monthly fee for its solution and service. This ensures that the customers continue to get the benefit of CER's constant R&D effort. CER's service model provide three key benefits to the customer - first it saves on the fuel cost significantly from the very first hour of commissioning, second it eliminates or minimizes usage of diesel converting the sites to environmental friendly sites and third it ensures no service disruption with more than 99% power uptime."
&operate and lowers operating cost. The solution is designed to reduce overall energy consumption and support multiple BTS (2G, 3G, 4G).
