Cambridge Energy Resources secures strategic investments to expand its thermal power generation and coal trading operations in India
New Delhi, India March 17, 2010:Cambridge Energy Resources (CER), a Cambridge Energy Group Company, today announced expansion of its thermal power generation and coal trading operation in India. CER has launched CER Coal Pvt Ltd and secured initial investments from Geo Trade International LLC to accelerate the growth of its thermal business.
CER Coal is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a mission to generate energy from clean coal and now expanding its ability to trade coal products across India.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Bhaskar Panigrahi, Chairman of the CER group, mentioned that “India is on a high growth trajectory which requires enormous amount of energy. A good reliable supply of power is the need of the hour. A thermal plant in the industrial zone will not only augment the energy need for the industries, but also fulfill government’s commitment to energy production. In addition, CER Coal’s ability to trade coal products through its proprietary blending is expected to increase overall energy generation from MT of Coal.”
